Adeleke & Adegboyega
There is an outburst in Osun state, following allegations of misappropriation of $20 million World Bank health grant and money laundering against former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola by his successor, Governor Ademola Adeleke.
It will be recalled that Adeleke in a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), accused the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Oyetola, of money laundering, financial misconduct and violations of the Public Procurement Act in the disbursement of the grant meant for health sector improvement in the state.
Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, alleged that ex-Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioner, Adebayo Adeleke, was fraudulently awarded contract without due process and signed several cheques for his company while he was serving the state.
The ex-Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Commissioner, Adeleke berated Osun State Government over the allegations and queried the government for taking long before leveling the allegations against the past government after it has lost grip of local governments.
Adeleke, however, claimed that they also have the records of how the Commissioner for Information, Alimi, spearheaded a N3.7billion fraud while he served under the former Osun State governor Rauf Aregbesola’s administration as the commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
