The Osun State Ministry of Cooperatives and Empowerment has alerted the people of Osun to a fraudulent act by an individual who is falsely presenting himself as the Imole Youth Corps Empowerment Coordinator in a bid to dupe members of the public.

The impersonator, with the number 09127705114 is said to be making false promises to unsuspecting members of the public, claiming he can assist to secure slots within the organization in exchange for a specific amount.

Reacting in a statement made available to Diamond FM on Saturday, Commissioner for Cooperatives and Empowerment, Osun State, Prince Bayo Ogungbangbe dissociated the ministry from the individual. 

According to the commissioner, the Imole Youth Corps Empowerment does not charge any fees for enrollment or offer preferential treatment based on payment.

While noting that the empowerment  selection process will be fair, transparent, and based on merit, Ogungbangbe warned citizens not to fall victim of fraud. He also asked the public to report anyone found to be making such promise.

The statement read, “We urge all citizens not to fall victim to this deceitful individual’s schemes. If you encounter anyone making such promises or requesting payment for a slot within the Imole Youth Corps, please report it immediately to the authorities or the genuine Imole Youth Corps office.

“We remain committed to upholding the integrity of the Imole Youth Corps Empowerment and ensuring a trustworthy and accountable environment for all our members and prospective candidates.

“For any legitimate information or queries regarding our organization, recruitment, or activities, please visit our official website or contact our designated communication channels.

“Thank you for your cooperation, and let us work together to protect one another from scams and fraudulent activities.”
