In a bid to enhance transparency, social inclusion, and trust in governance, stakeholders convened in Kwara State for a crucial meeting on Project Trust. 

Led by Ifunnaya Okeke, the Community Engagement Officer at Connected Development CODE, the meeting emphasized the core objectives of the initiative and sought to replicate successful models from Kaduna State in six additional states across Nigeria.

To ensure the successful implementation of Project Trust in Kwara State, Ifunnaya Okeke, the Community Engagement Officer at Connected Development (CODE), officially inaugurated members of the Community of Practice (CoP).

During the inauguration, Ifunnaya urged CoP members to actively uphold the three primary objectives of the Trust Project. She emphasized the objectives entail, the institutionalization of accountability systems, the restoration of trust in government, and the enforcement of the Persons With Disabilities Act.

The primary focus of Project Trust is to deepen and institutionalize accountability systems while promoting social inclusion, particularly for persons with disabilities. 

Furthermore, the initiative aims to foster trust among government institutions and citizens, ultimately fostering a more transparent and accountable governance structure.

The stakeholders’ meeting, held on Thursday, served as a platform to strategize and plan the implementation of Project Trust in Kwara, as well as in Anambra, Yobe, Jigawa, Osun, and Bayelsa states. 

Drawing from the successful framework established in Kaduna State, Ifunnaya urged COP members to adopt Kaduna methods to adapt and replicate these models effectively in Kwara.
