Libya Appoint New Coach Ahead Super Eagles AFCON 2025 Qualifier Clash

Libya have appointed Nasser Al-Hadiri as their new national team head coach.

The Libya Football Federation (LFF) recently sacked Serbian Milutin Sredojevic following the Mediterranean Knights poor start to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying series, which leaves the North Africans bottom of Group D after recording just a point from two games.

Al-Hadri will be assisted by Abu Bakr Al-Harak, while Misbah Shangab will be the goalkeeper coach.

The new gaffer previously held the position of assistant coach to Spaniard Javier Clemente in the Libyan national team in 2014.

The President of the LFF, Abdul Hakim Al-Shalmani said the body has reached agreement with Al-Hadiri to take charge of the team.

Libya will take on the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a 2025 AFCON qualifying matchday three encounter in Uyo on Friday, October 11, even as the Mediterranean Knights will host the three-time African champions in Benina four days later.
