Lawyer and activist, Barrister Maxwell Opara, has claimed that organizers of the protests for the release of Nnamdi Kanu did not see or receive any court order banning the protest, as claimed by the Police.
He noted that the unseen court order that the Police are claiming only directed protesters to stay away from the Presidential Villa and the National Assembly.
Speaking at Berger Axis of Abuja during the protest, Opara, accused the federal government of selective implementation of court orders, noting that several court had ordered the release of Kanu from detention without being obeyed.
The activist also faulted the federal government for granting Amnesty to bandits and negotiating with non-state actors who have inflicted pain on the country, but refused to free Kanu.
Opara confirmed that some of the protest leaders were arrested by the Police, but said it will not deter them from forging ahead with the protest until the federal government frees Nnamdi Kanu.
