Methodist High School @ 70: Alumni Embark on Rally to Owa’s Palace, Celebrate with Football Victory


As part of efforts to ensure a healthy well being of it members, Staff and Students of Methodist High School, Ilesa Osun State, the Old Student association of the school embarked a road walk as part of activities to mark its 70th anniversary, with possession from the school compound to the Palace of Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland.

‎During the festival-like rally adorned with a colorful Blue and white Uniform, the National President Arc. Gbenga Akintola acknowledged some of the achievement made by the old boys and girls for the development of the school.

‎Akintola speaking at the first point of contact, the Methodist Cathedral Church, Otapete, lauded the establishment and contribution of the Church towards quality education in Ijesaland and Osun state at large.

‎Representing the Cathedral Administrator, Rev. Aderemi Johnson appreciated the old Student association for its contribution to the growth and development of the school.

‎Meanwhile, the rally ended with a courtesy visitation to the Palace, where the association held a funfair session before returning back to the school compound.

‎However, the activities for the day was wrapped up with a novelty football Match between the student of Methodist High School and African Church Grammar School, Ilesa Osun State, as the host school defeated the invited school 1-0 after a penalty was awarded in favour of Methodist High School.
