Methodist School @ 70: Bishop Akindeko urges Government to build on Missionaries’ education vision


Government at all levels have been admonished to sustain the educational foresight and vision of Missionary Churches by contributing more to the developmental growth of their schools.

‎This was the submission of the Bishop of Methodist Church Nigeria, Ilesa Diocese, Archbishop Amos Akinloose Akindeko in his homily titled “Arise, Shine, 70years of Covenant light” during the 70th Anniversary thanksgiving of Methodist High School, Ilesa at the Church Cathedral, Otapete, Ilesa.

‎Most Rev. Akindeko lauded the founding fathers of the great citadel of learning and also the late Owa Fredrick Kuomokun Haastrup Ajimoko 1, for their vision to the establishment of the school on three mandate.

‎Also the Chairman of the Anniversary Planning Committee, Adewale Folowoshele thanked to God for the successful anniversary celebration.

Speaking after the thanksgiving service, the Chairman of OSAMETHSI Lagos Branch, Bayo Fadugba noted that the next point of action is to maintain and  sustain all the legacy projects executed by the old student association.

‎However, the Chaplain of the school, Very Rev. Emmanuel Oluwasegun affirmed that moral changes have occured amongst Students, Teachers and staff of the school compared to the past.

‎Meanwhile, to whom much is given, much is expected as the old boys and girls donated a Million Naira to the Church for thanksgiving.
