The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said its presidential primary election for the 2027 election will hold on May 23, 2026, dismissing reports suggesting the exercise has been postponed.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, described reports circulating on social media and other communication platforms about changes to the timetable as “false and misleading.”
The ruling party announced that its House of Representatives primary election will be held on May 15, 2026.
It fixed the Senate primary election for May 18, while the State House of Assembly primary is scheduled for May 20.
According to the timetable, the governorship primary election is slated for May 21, while the presidential primary will take place on May 23, 2026.
