Democracy Day: Awotuyi harps on fear of God, leadership sacrifice


The Founder and Chairman, Bright Broadcasting Limited, Owners of Diamond FM network and Diamond TV Online, Apostle Oluwole Awotuyi, says leaders in the nation must govern with the fear of God and sacrifice tremendously to actualize the desired change in the country.

He underscored the need for a paradigm shift in areas of priorities by the government and spending pattern, calling for a governance approach that cuts cost to focus more on economic rejuvenation and masses-oriented policies.

Apostle Awotuyi made the call in a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen in Ilorin on Wednesday, to mark this year’s Democracy Day.

The business mogul hailed Nigeria’s 25 years of uninterrupted democratic dispensation, and the gradual growth witnessed in civil rule.

He however noted that more still needs to be done, especially by the leaders to rescue Nigeria from its numerous challenges “in order to ensure that the sacrifices of those who fought for our democracy does not go in vain.”

The media proprietor also called for prayer, patience, cooperation and active support from Nigerians as we struggle as a nation to protect our democracy and make lives worth living in the most populous black nation.
