JUSUN condemns Osun Chief Judge’s silence, maintains strike action

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), Osun State Branch, has strongly criticized the Chief Judge of the state for her silence and continued absence during the ongoing strike, as union members reaffirm their commitment to the industrial action.

At the State Congress held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at the entrance of the High Court of Justice, Osogbo, JUSUN Chairman Comrade Idris Adedayo Adeniran accused the Chief Judge of showing disregard for judiciary staff welfare by leaving the state on the day the strike began and failing to initiate any dialogue with the union.

The union announced that all financial transactions involving judiciary accounts, specifically those of the High Court, Customary Court of Appeal, and Judicial Service Commission are suspended, except for the payment of judges’ September salaries, to support ongoing resolution efforts by some judges.

JUSUN also confirmed a scheduled meeting with the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Osun State branch on Friday, October 10, aimed at resolving the impasse. The union expressed appreciation for the NBA’s involvement and urged members to continue boycotting offices until officially directed otherwise.

Meanwhile, Comrade Adeniran thanked members for their unity and discipline, stressing that strict adherence to directives remains essential.
