The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, has released the names of withdrawn, suspended and cancelled products in Nigeria.
NAFDAC, in a post via their website today September 30th 2025, said the products are no longer permitted for manufacture, importation, exportation, distribution, advertisement, sale and use within Nigeria.
According to the NAFDAC, the certificate of registration of a product is said to be withdrawn when the use of the certificate of registration of that product is discontinued upon request of the market authorization holder.
It added that the certificate of registration of a product may be suspended when the conditions upon which the NAFDAC registration license was issued are no longer met, and the agency is to decide.
It was reported that this is coming less than 24 hours after NAFDAC launched a comprehensive national strategy and roadmap aimed at eliminating industrially produced trans-fatty acids, TFAs, from Nigeria’s food supply chain.
