The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) has thwarted an attempt to smuggle illicit substances into the Kuje Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory.

In a statement, spokesperson of the FCT Command, Samson Duza, said the incident occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Saturday during a routine search.

Duza identified the suspect as Njimogu Ikedi, who allegedly concealed substances believed to be cannabis sativa and other psychoactive drugs in his clothes while attempting to visit an inmate.
