The National Orientation Agency (NOA), under the distinguished leadership of its Director-General, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu, has been honoured with the Award of Excellence in Value Reorientation and Nation-Building.
The prestigious award was presented by the Centre for Positive Value Reorientation and Advocacy during the Centre’s recent public event: the official launch of its new book, “Paradise at a Crossroads,” held at the NBA Hall in Ilorin.
The award recognizes the Agency’s outstanding and sustained commitment to fostering national values, driving civic enlightenment, and tirelessly promoting a united, responsible, and progressive Nigeria.
The presentation was made by Comrade Abdulwaheed Onikanhun, Registrar of Ahman Pategi University and Executive Director of the Centre for Positive Value Reorientation and Advocacy.
In his remarks, Comrade Onikanhun lauded the NOA for its pivotal role as the primary government agency tasked with communicating government policies, stimulating patriotic citizenship, and safeguarding Nigeria’s cherished national values.
“This award is a testament to the visionary leadership of Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu and the unwavering dedication of the entire NOA team,” stated Comrade Abdulwaheed Onikanhun.
“In a time where societal values are constantly challenged, the NOA has remained a steadfast beacon, diligently working to reorient the citizenry and lay a solid moral foundation for our nation’s future.
“Their work in civic education and national cohesion is not just commendable; it is indispensable for our collective progress. It is particularly fitting to present this award at the launch of our book, ‘Paradise at a Crossroads,’ which itself is a contribution to the vital national conversation on values and destiny that the NOA champions every day.”
Upon receiving the award, Director-General Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu expressed profound gratitude to the Centre for Positive Value Reorientation and Advocacy for the recognition.
He dedicated the honour to the staff of the NOA across the nation, whose grassroots efforts ensure the Agency’s messages resonate in every community.
“This award serves as both an affirmation and a motivation,” said DG Onilu. “It affirms that our strategies for value reorientation and national rebirth are impactful and seen. More importantly, it motivates us to redouble our efforts. Our mandate at the NOA is clear: to build a Nigeria where every citizen is informed, patriotic, and committed to the virtues of integrity, hard work, and unity. We accept this honour as a charge to continue this critical work with even greater zeal.” DG Onilu concluded
