The Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Osun state, Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji has pledged an inclusive government that will involve active participation of the media, with an assurance to engage the media regularly.
He also promised an issue-based engagement when campaign formally begins ahead of the August 08, 2026 Governorship election in the state.
Speaking in Osogbo on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at a media parley with the leadership of all broadcast stations across Osun State, Oyebamiji narrated how his engagement and collaboration with the media led to reduction in boat mishaps across the country during his time as Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA).
He commended the press in Osun for deepening governance in the state, and appealed to them to remain professional in the course of their duty.
Stakeholders of the APC who were present at the media parley also commended the media in Osun for their objectivity and largely non-partisan nature.
They appealed to the media to resist attempt to be bought over by political forces in order to preserve their integrity.
The party stakeholders include the APC state Chairman, Sooko Tajudeen, former state commissioners, Adebayo Adeleke, Sunday Akere, a former member of the Federal House of Representatives, Honourable Taiwo Oluga, Osun State First Deputy Speaker, Right Hon. Nike Omoworare, Barrister Kayode Oduoye, and Local Government Council chairmen among others.
