Osun Govt Approves Permanent Appointments of over 200 Temporary Staff


In a bid to ease academic activities in the University of Ilesa (UNILESA), the Vice Chancellor of UNILESA, Professor Taiwo Asaolu, has announced the approval of permanent appointments for fresh and temporary staff.

The permanent absorption of the staff followed approval by the Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke.

Addressing the Management and Staff on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at a Management and Staff meeting, held at the institution’s TETFUND Normal Intervention Hall, Prof. Asaolu congratulated the newly promoted and freshly appointed staff, appreciating the State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, for keeping to his words.

Shedding more light on the new development, the VC, who spoke with newsmen in his office after the meeting, stated that 9 Senior lecturers were promoted to Associate Professors, 20 academic staff to the Senior Lecturers’ cadre, while others were also appointed as new teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution.

The VC also highlighted some other achievements the institution has recorded so far including hostel facilities for over 400 students, provision of tightened security within and outside the campus for the students and staff, staff promotion, road reconstruction, proposal for additional 35 programmes, and Nursing laboratory under construction.

Others include purchase of teaching and sporting facilities, beautification of the institution, staff welfare, payment of outstanding salaries, and development of teaching farmlands, amongst others.

The elated staff, who could not hide their joy, appreciated the State Governor, the Council Chairman, Honourable Gbenga Onigbogi, and the VC, for their collective efforts to put smile on their faces.

They assured of their readiness to pay back by adhering strictly to the laid down precepts and code of conducts highlighted for them by the institution.

The permanently absorbed staff members further pledged their continuous support for the success of their individual and collective pursuits to drive the institution to a greater height.

High points of the meeting were rendition of praise songs, drumming and dancing by the elated staff.
