The Vice Chancellor of the University of Ilesa, Osun State, Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu, has urged all newly matriculated students to shun any form of misconduct or vice, and any activity that may bring disrepute to the institution.
Prof. Asaolu, who made the call on Thursday, December 11, 2025, while delivering his speech at the 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony for fresh intakes, advised the students to abide by all rules and regulations of the land as good citizens.
The Vice Chancellor noted that while the institution wants a better future for its students, the management has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of misconduct and ill vices.
Professor Asaolu reiterated the commitment of the University management to the welfare of its students, citing that although the institution currently has limited on-campus accommodations, efforts are being put in place to increase hostel capacity.
He added that the institution is working closely with security agencies to ensure the security of its students living off-campus.
Some of the matriculated students, who spoke with Diamond FM, expressed their gladness and appreciation to God for being part of the matriculation ceremony. They also disclosed their eagerness to take advantage of the learning opportunity.
