Emulate MKO Abiola, prioritise welfare, APC chieftain urges Tinubu

A stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, Dr. Yetunde Adeniji, has urged President Bola Tinubu to toe the path of the late icon of democracy, Chief MKO Abiola, by making the welfare of Nigerians a priority.

Adeniji made the charge in a post-Democracy Day statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday.

While commending the masses for their unwavering commitment to democracy, the director of The Asiwaju Group appealed to the president to continue upholding democratic values while extending a helping hand to the less privileged.

According to her, June 12 should serve as a reminder of Nigeria’s hard-fought journey towards a system of governance that empowers the people and provides a platform for their voices to be heard.

She said, “As we move forward, I implore President Tinubu to emulate the late Chief MKO Abiola by championing the cause of democracy and extending a helping hand to those in need. By prioritising the well-being of all Nigerians, especially the less privileged, we can truly build a just and prosperous nation.
