The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), has moved the former Governor of Anambra State,Willie Obiano, into Courtroom 5 of the Federal High Court in Abuja for arraignment.
Obiano, who was driven into the court premises around 8am in an 18-seater Toyota Bus and kept inside the vehicle for some minutes before being moved into the courtroom, was reportedly escorted into the courtroom by more than 10 operatives of the anti-graft agency.
He was squeezed in between four EFCC operatives who prevented his followers and sympathisers from accessing him.
The identity of lawyers likely to defend him could not be ascertained, however, more than 50 lawyers were seen seated in the courtroom.
Meanwhile, the former Governor of Anambra was granted bail by the Court.
Justice Inyang Ekwo granted the former governor bail and adjourned the case till March 4 for the commencement of trial.
