Panic Grips Ijebu-Jesa Over Alleged Bandits’ School Invasion

Residents of Ijebu-Jesa in Oriade Local Government Area were thrown into pandemonium today following reports alleging that bandits had invaded the community.

The situation led to apprehension as school authorities sent messages to parents and guardians to pick their children.

According to reports, parents and guardians were seen running helter skelter to pick their children and wards from their schools before closing hours.

A teacher at Professor Olowokure Academy, Ijebu-Jesa, who pleaded anonymity, told Diamond FM News that she had gone out for supervision but on her way back to the school, she saw parents and children scampering for safety.

Efforts to interview the principal of the school proved abortive, as he declined to speak with our correspondent.

Meanwhile, the Elegboro of Ijebu-Ijesa, Oba Moses Agunsoye, has allayed fears, dismissing the reports of bandits’ invasion, and describing the claims as false and unfounded.
