Elemide Says Governor Abiodun Not Behind Ogun Speaker Oluomo’s Impeachment

The new Ogun State House of Assembly Speaker, Oludaisi Elemide, has stressed that the State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, had no hand in the former House Speaker, Olakunle Oluomo’s removal.

Elemide, who was immediately picked to replace Oluomo shortly after his impeachment, noted that the lawmakers are law-abiding, stressing that they all want to make it known to the public that there is now a change to the State House of Assembly leadership.

Speaking further, while he stated that eighteen members signed for him to be the Speaker, Elemide urged Ogun residents to remain calm, maintaining that they are in custody of all the authority of the House, and that the new leadership will support the governor.

Recall that the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Olakunle Oluomo, was yesterday, January 23, impeached by 18 out of 26 members of the legislative arm during the House sitting presided over by the Deputy Speaker, Bolanle Ajayi, and was immediately replaced by the lawmaker representing Odeda State Constituency, Oludaisi Elemide.
